Running Along

Shhh.  Don’t tell Ben.  I do secretly wish sometimes (a very small amount of the time) that we had the interwebs so that I can write more frequently.  I am forced to wait until Fridays when I work at a school that has high speed.  My work computer is woefully slow and outdated and often has errors loading pages.  Anyway…

Running is going ok.  I have been sick for about, oh, over a month now.  Fighting a viral infection that set up house in my sinuses and then bought a second home in my airways.  Nothing contagious, but troublesome nonetheless.  I am currently on two different inhalers (one a steroid inhaler… “I’m going to puff you up!”) and another round of antibiotics.  Yeah Z Pack!  I don’t feel sick so much as I just don’t feel good, not like my usual self.  It’s been frustrating.  I took a week off from running to rest and am back on training schedule.  Shuffle is shuffling closer, two weeks to go, and surprisingly, I’m not stressed about the real possibility that my time won’t be as good as last year’s.  I’m keeping my eye on the bigger prizes, like Covered Bridges and so on.  I am getting itchy to get outside and run more, the weather has just been too cold and icy.  It’s supposed to rain this weekend and hoping to get out at least one of the days.  Continuing to get massages every other week, focusing on continuing to address hamstring tightness on both sides.  Continuing to strengthen my relationship with Ole Blue (foam roller).

That’s the update for now, look for the Shuffle pics towards the end of the month.
