{"id":3158,"date":"2012-11-25T17:01:50","date_gmt":"2012-11-25T22:01:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/?p=3158"},"modified":"2012-11-25T18:13:11","modified_gmt":"2012-11-25T23:13:11","slug":"2-0-a-go-go-or-and-so-it-go-goes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/?p=3158","title":{"rendered":"2.0 a-go-go (or And So It Go-Goes)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/?attachment_id=3159\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3159\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-3159\" title=\"office\" src=\"http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/office-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>An empty office.\u00a0 The start of a new life.\u00a0 My office clock stopped my second to last day of work.\u00a0 Battery worn down, probably.\u00a0 Fitting metaphor.\u00a0 I will say that few people have probably been as feted as I was leaving this job.\u00a0 A Halloween costume party thrown by my coworker (<a href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/p\/RT12vdLk1u\" target=\"_blank\">Ben as the &#8220;Bread Winner&#8221;<\/a>), a goodbye brunch at work, and then a drinks\/nibbles party thrown the Monday after I left.\u00a0 I left a little care package of sweets and carbs in the nook outside my office with little mementos of me for staff so they wouldn&#8217;t miss me as much.\u00a0 Little &#8220;mini me&#8217;s&#8221; on popsicle sticks so they can have pocket Amys.\u00a0 So whenever they wonder:\u00a0 &#8220;What would Amy do?&#8221; They can pull me out and talk to me.\u00a0 Or use it to mouth off to annoying clients.\u00a0 &#8220;It wasn&#8217;t me that said that.\u00a0 It was Amy.&#8221;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/?attachment_id=3161\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3161\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-3161 aligncenter\" title=\"minime\" src=\"http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/minime-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My last day was also celebrated with a a wonderful dinner treat by Ben at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carpenterandmain.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Carpenter and Main Restaurant<\/a> in Norwich, VT.\u00a0 We sat in a little dining nook and had a wonderful bottle of wine and good food.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/?attachment_id=3160\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3160\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-3160 aligncenter\" title=\"cubby\" src=\"http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/cubby-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/cubby-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/cubby-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/cubby-550x550.jpg 550w, http:\/\/www.beamychron.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/cubby.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>It has been a weird emotional time.\u00a0 It&#8217;s akin to leaving a relationship where you still love the person.\u00a0 I loved the team I worked on.\u00a0 I just didn&#8217;t love the work anymore.\u00a0 Maybe I will again one day, maybe I won&#8217;t.\u00a0 Right now I am loving not having to listen to people&#8217;s heart-breaking and most often self-created drama and also not having to get on staff&#8217; about getting their paperwork done on time.<\/p>\n<p>But when it rains it pours.\u00a0 I have a potential temporary job offer that just popped up this past week with the Department of Children and Families in VT, as my friend termed it: as her &#8220;paperwork bitch&#8221;.\u00a0 Pretty much paperwork and follow up phone calls to help the staff stay on top of crazily stacked caseloads.\u00a0 I told the director that I didn&#8217;t want any client interaction because why get out of the frying pan just to jump into the fire.\u00a0 But the pay would be about the same if not more than what I was making as an assistant director of a clinic with a Master&#8217;s degree.\u00a0 To do paperwork and phone calls.\u00a0 God bless working for the government!\u00a0 If\u00a0 it works out, I will start a few mornings per week and then go to about 30 hours after the holidays through March.\u00a0 I have started full-time at King Arthur Flour (Tuesdays &#8211;
