Bipolar Holiday

I have declared that my house suffers from a bipolar holiday.  Thanksgiving is marked by fall decorations outside and on our table and buffet, but Christmas lights and garland festoon (when do you ever get to use this word!?) out doorways and stairway.  I love Christmas decorations and couldn’t be more pleased that Thanksgiving is early this year.  We engaged in our annual tradition of watching the Albert Finney musical musical version of Scrooge  on Thanksgiving eve and then cutting down our Christmas tree the next day.  This year we got our tree at the apple orchard we go to, Windy Ridge Orchard in Haverhill, NH, about 20 minutes from our house.  We took a tractor-pulled wagon ride to the tree farm and they had a wonderful selection of great trees.  So good that it was both easy and hard to make up our minds.  Ben and I decorated the tree that afternoon and it is lovely.  Our house is all lit up for the holidays and making a sparkle on the front door is the ornament wreath that I made last year.  Here are some pics of our Turkey/Tree weekend:
