Phish is kicking off their Fall tour shortly and I’ve ordered tickets to the Amherst show on the 23rd of October. Since regrouping last year they’ve gone to this raffle format for the initial round of ticketing. It’s for people on their mailing list, or for people who are actively paying attention. You tell them how many tickets you want, up to 4, for each show….. and then some time in the next 2 weeks you find out if they like you and suddenly decide to charge your credit card! Maybe you get nothing. It sucks but I guess that’s one way to manage crazy demand. Last summer I asked for one ticket to one show and got it. But some pals tried to get 4 each and none of them passed the test.

There is a second round of ticketing that’s a bit more traditional but it’s like a mad dash for scraps at that point. Anyway, folks who know me well know that I’m down with the Phish. They’ve started posting tour promo vids and some recent jams on Vimeo. I likee.
